Monthly Meeting - September 2024 - Building Mentoring Relationships

Tuesday 3rd September at 1pm EDT (1pm New York, 6pm London, 3am Wed 4th Sydney)

As we start a new academic year, many of us are entering new mentor/mentee relationships. Through the Utah Coaching and Advancement Network (U-CAN), at the University of Utah, Dr. Harriet Hopf and Dr. Kristen Keefe will present resources on building mentor/mentee relationships and the fundamentals of professional mentoring. In this meeting, we will learn about the types of mentor mentee relationships, how to initiate and maintain these relationships, and how to handle transitions in these relationships.

Dr. Hopf and Dr. Keefe will cover strategies for developing long-term relationships that go beyond a specific project to support mentees during their early academic careers, as well as identify common pitfalls that may hinder effectiveness within a mentoring relationship.
